Magical Pouf

I've loved the look of the Moroccan pouf ottoman for quite awhile. The practical little seat packs punch in any type of room and decor. And now they can be found in any color one desires (and in a range of pricing: from Serena & Lily to John Derian to Tazi to Bohemia.)

I caved and purchased a gray one for the nursery as the footrest for our rocker. It is super cute, well made, comfy to sit on, and I can picture the little one sitting, standing and leaning all over it. (Ah, yes, the nursery. With three weeks to go, it is getting there and is functional for now. Thank shipping delays, hectic schedules and some procrastination. But it will be done soon!)

I can also imagine borrowing it if extra seating is needed in the living room.  Love this look (from Lonny).

Rustic Roots

I was blown away by the rustic, magical nature of the farm featured last week in the New York Times. Lo and behold, this gorgeous property is no where else but just south of Pittsburgh. And the backstory is just as intriguing.

I appreciate the straightforward nature of the farm's owner, who wanted a place for her children to roam and to grow crops for food banks. Impressively (after a lot of work) the farm eventually harvested tons of organic produce for the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank over seven years. Now the property is a wonderful weekend and summer home for her family.

Can't you imagine a summer soiree here?

Her style is bold, clean, elegant, yet functional. Restoration hardware, but the real deal. I can only imagine that the interior designer's phone must be ringing off the hook.

Although usually a beach person, with a view like this, I can be convinced to retreat in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania.

Weekend Festivities

So many things going on and kicking off this weekend! The ones on my radar:

Three Rivers Arts Festival is today through June 12. I will definitely make it at some point to explore all the artist booths and hopefully find something unique for baby's room. Brandi Carlile performs next Friday, June 10-- love her.

Pittsburgh Jazz Live International Festival coinciding with the downtown activities this weekend.

The first of four First Friday at the Frick outdoor concert series.

Bi-annual All Clad sale at Washington County Fairgrounds and Crate in Greentree.

Cheers for summer season and fun outdoor activities!
