A Sense of Harmony

The Spring Flower Show is in full bloom at the Phipps Conservatory. I went this past weekend-- perfect rainy day activity that gave me subject matter for my photography class, and inspiration for my garden.

I love the Tropical Fruit and Spice room-- of course, because it holds a chocolate and coffee tree. And papaya, cinnamon and banana. Yum.

I think my favorite is the Sunken Garden, with the bountiful hanging baskets spilling with hydrangeas, and rows of every Spring flower you've ever imagined.

Pittsburgh's own jardin in the Broderie Room. 

My senses were already overwhelmed by the beauty, but an audio tour is available to experience the interpretation of each room to an opera, as part of a collaboration with the Pittsburgh Opera. Bravo, indeed!
